In this project, the research scope has been expanded from SiC/SiC to C/SiC. In addition, our team has employed CNF to enhance the mechanical properties of C/SiC composites processed by the liquid silicon infiltration (LSI) method. We have successfully validated the reproducibility of the improved mechanical properties of C/SiC by applying CNF. The following tasks are my contributions.
① Dispersing CNF uniformly into the phenolic resin by using various techniques
② Optimizing the fabrication process of CFRP laminates by vacuum-bag only (VBO) method
③ Fabricating C/SiC composites
④ Measuring mechanical properties based on ASTM standards & Data
analysis and visualization via Python
⑤ Investigating microstructures of the composites by SEM and XRD
⑥ Modeling the composite unit cell structure and the fabrication process
⑦ Identifying the causes of the enhanced mechanical properties
